Your donation to the USS Bowfin Submarine Museum and Park provides educational opportunities in a variety of ways:
- Our Education Outreach Program visits local schools on Oahu, Kauai, Maui, Molokai and Hawaii Islands to provide instruction on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) use aboard submarines and encourages visits by school children to the Museum. Since 1998 we have visited thousands of school children in our local schools.
- The Bowfin Scholarship Program provides both academic and continuing scholarships to members of the Hawaiian submarine force community (active duty or retired), family members and family members of deceased submariners who reside in Hawaii, and who will attend accredited college, university or vocational school programs. The applicants can attend college anywhere in the United States; however, the applicant must be residing in Hawaii at the time of the application. The academic scholar may apply up to the age of 23 years old. Award is based on academic performance, potential and financial need. Since 1985, USS Bowfin Submarine Museum and Park has awarded over $600,000 worth of scholarships in this program and touched the lives of hundreds of recipients.
- Our Adventures in History provides no cost evening programs to the visiting public on submarine related topics. Usually, once a quarter, these events are an opportunity to hear about emerging submarine technology or historical related events and are provided by the Staff of the USS Bowfin Submarine Museum or by invited presenters.
Your donation to the USS Bowfin Submarine Museum and Park will assist in continuing these important education programs. Thank You.
